Feeding Recommendations
Saltec 2:1 is a concentrated vitamin and mineral supplement formulated for self-feeding growing mature beef cattle as a source of calcium, phosphorus, trace minerals, and vitamins for use when forage protein is not lacking. Provide plenty of drinking water and free choice salt.
Place containers in areas that achieve desired supplement intake. Once acceptable intake levels have been achieved, the containers may be moved to underutilized pasture areas to improve grazing distribution and forage utilization. Feed at the rate of one container for every 20 to 30 head. A minimum of two containers may be necessary in each lot or pasture to ensure proper accessibility. Free-choice consumption will depend on size of the animals fed, seasonal weather conditions, as well as quality, source, and availability of other feeds. Cattle typically consume between 85 and 170 grams (3 and 6 ounces) per head daily.
All consumption figures stated here are approximate. Provide free access to clean, fresh water at all times.
